Hours and minutes between two times

The hours calculator measures the exact time duration between two moments — the same day or across several days — and can also add or subtract hours and minutes from a starting time. Use the date-and-time pickers so overnight shifts and multi-day spans are handled correctly, with no confusion over AM/PM.

It’s the tool for working out the length of a shift, a flight, a study session, a fast, a parking stay or a project sprint. The result is shown several ways: total hours and minutes, an H:MM figure, and a decimal-hours value that’s handy for timesheets and billing.

Why use date-and-time inputs

Entering only clock times makes overnight spans ambiguous — is 06:00 to 22:00 sixteen hours, or is it the other way around? By including the date, the calculator always knows which moment comes first, so it measures the real gap and never has to guess.
